AST Membership

Membership of the AST is open to people of all ages and interests. The Society caters for all aspects of amateur astronomy and space related topics. The Society welcomes newcomers to astronomy as well as those more experienced. Members do not need to own a telescope to be a member

The AST provides observing facilities for members, educational lectures for members and the public, and we assist members and the public in selecting, using telescopes and accessories.

The AST maintains liaisons with interstate and international groups, participates in national conventions, and contributes to international observing programmes. Individual and group projects are encouraged, and the Society provides a forum for the presentation of observations and results and the sharing of ideas at a wide variety of levels.
