Two or more persons at the same address who wish to receive only 1 copy of the Society's publications.

AST Country or Publications Only: $38
Subscription to Sky & Space Magazine and AST Bulletin only.
Does not include full membership privilege's, such as: access to AST telescopes and AST library etc.

New members who join after the last General Meeting of the year (November) pay the full fee and this carries them through to the second AGM after joining. The AGM is in February, when all memberships become due for renewal.  All membership applications are subject to approval by the Committee and there may be a delay between applying and receiving acknowledgment of your Membership.  Membership is acknowledged by the issue of a Membership Card. This is updated annually when membership is renewed.
Full membership entitlements include subscription to Sky & Space Magazine, AST Bulletin, participation in any of the Society's special interest groups and observing programmes, use of the Society's library and, for approved observers, access to use the telescopes in the Society's Observatory at Canopus Hill.

Members receive discounts on selected astronomical publications that are available through the Society, and other privileges include free admission to the Launceston Planetarium upon presentation of a current Membership Card. 
Observing evenings and a variety of social events are held in Hobart, to which all members, their families and friends are welcome.

How Members Can Help:
In keeping with our aim of promoting community interest in astronomy, the Society organises public observing nights and displays, and members are often asked to conduct viewing or slide nights for school and club groups. If you are able to assist at any of these activities, which are advertised either in The “Bulletin”, or at General Meetings, please contact the Secretary, or any Committee Member. It is not necessary to bring a telescope, but if you have one available, it is always appreciated.
